Wow what a day yesterday was! I went to the try outs with Skye to be in the GCDS silver North West Demonstration team for Crufts 2012. Kathryn Stickney was also there with Harry, Emma with Bella, Elaine with Rosie and Jackie with Snowy. Excellent turn out from Newton Heath. There were around 35-40 dogs there and only 9 could go through. Sadly Rosie and Snowy didn’t make it but the good news is that Skye, Harry and Bella all made the team. We are doing the demonstrations on the Friday and Sunday at Crufts. All the dogs there were amazing, the selection panel had said the standard of all the dogs were one of the highest they had seen. Great day for Newton Heath Obedience section and special thanks has to got to Ken Worrell and Trevor Avis for their hard work in getting these dogs to this standard. 
Just a quick note to let you all know that pet obedience training has its last class of this year on Wednesday 21st December. Classes will resume on Tuesday 3rd & Wednesday 4th January 2012.
This year’s NHDTC Open Obedience Show is on the 6th & 7th August 2011 at Brabyns park Marple.

One judged praised Moe for the way she handled her dog and Moe said ” Its my hobby not the dogs” to say people have taken the mickey is an understatement. Wise words indeed Moe

The club invited Shirley Clowes to do an obedience training day on Monday the 17th May. It was attended by more than twenty of the club’s members. Shirley took each handler in turn with there dog and gave individual advice on improving the team’s exercises. Most handlers chose heelwork and Shirley gave suggestions on how to improve and move forward. Thanks to Mo Graham for organising the event.
