Newton Heath Flyball Team had a great weekend at Bakewell.  We entered 2 teams the Timelords and the Warlocks.  First in was Newton Heath Timelords who ran on Saturday.  They were running under their new seed time of 18.20 and were in division 2, not to be sniffed at :)   Running in the team was Amanda with Holly, Janet with Jaz, Me with Brodie and Kathryn ran my other dog Skye. We also had a very special guest dog with us, Tina with Jake. We had 5 races to do and won 4 out of 5 making us the division winners.  We had to work hard on some of the races but manged it and came away with 1st place.
Sunday saw the Warlocks running.  There are usually 5 dogs in that team but sadly Ken couldn’t make it with Star so the team ran as a 4 dog team.  There was Kathryn with Harry, Amanda with Sandy, Nathan with Milo and Tony with Mila.  The team were great.  They again had to run 5 races and topped the day by winning all 5!  Again they came away with 1st place!

Well done guys :)
Our next competition is in October at Drax near Selby.  Come and see us on a Tuesday or Wednesday night if you would like the address of the venue to come and support the teams :)

Keep up the good work guys!

Wow what a great bank holiday weekend!  Weather and Competing!
Newton Heath Flyball team attended Carlton Towers Game show and had a great time.  The weather was great for sitting around but a little too much for the dogs racing, but they all coped really well. :)
Friday was starters day and some of our newbies got to have their first show experience.  They ran under the name of Newton Heath Nippers and were Sally with Denzil, Lisa with Ella, Danielle with Ella, Jackie with Kofie and Tony with Braithe.  For Sally, Lisa and Danielle it was their first show but you wouldnt have thought that, they all were brilliant!
Saturday was the open teams and we had Newton Heath Timelords, Newton Heath Sorcerers and Newton Heath Dragons running.  The Timelords had the honour of running in Division one under their new seed time of 18 seconds!  They were Karren with Skye, Amanda with Holly, Janet with Jazz, Rose with Murphy and Rob with Diesel.  The team had some great racing and managed to get a new seed time of 17.75 which is amazing and came away with 3rd from div 1…. Well done guys!
Also on Saturday were the Newton Heath Sorcerers which were Karren with Brodie, Tom with Alfie, Julie with Pheobie, Lisa with Digger and Georgina with Smudge.  Sadly some of the dogs struggled with the heat and so didnt do so well :(   Next time hey guys?
Newton Heath Dragons were the last team in of the day which were Ken with Fly, Tony with Mila, Amanda with Sandy, Nathan with Milo and Kathryn with Harry…There were some great racing from these guys and big compliments from the divison judge on the great racing and more importantly the great handling by the teams :)   Coming away with another 3rd

Newton Heath Flyball Teams had a great weekend in the first outdoor weekend of the season.  It was the first time we had entered 5 teams and they all ran extremely well. Saturday saw Newton Heath Warlocks run which was Amanda with Sandy, Nathan with Milo, Kathryn with Harry, Denise with Skye and Lisa with Digger.  All the dogs ran great and we managed to have great fun with the judge that day Len, who enjoyed telling us off when it went wrong :)   Next in on Saturday was the Newton Heath Sorcerers.  This was me with Brodie, Janet with Jaz, Neil with Pheobie, Lisa with Alfie and Sarah with Ffion.  Really good racing and we walked away with a 3rd.  Special well done to Lisa who had to be lead dog at one point and did very well.  Next up was the Newton Heath Timelords.  This was Amanda with Holly, Tina with Jake, me with Skye, Sarah with Greg and Rose with Murphy.  This was the first competition these dogs had ran together and they all ran brilliant, walked away with a new seed time of 18 seconds.
Sunday we had 2 teams in Newton Heath Dragons and Newton Heath Knights.  Dogs racing were, Ken with Fly & Star, Rob with Diesel, Georgina with Smudge, Nathan with Boogie, Tony with Mila, Neil with Sam and Emma with Bella.  Some of these dogs are very new to racing and so had to work that little bit more.  Georgina is the youngest of the team running Smudge and she did very well indeed.  Keep up the good work Georgina, your a credit to the team.
Other teams also had a great weekend with Live Wires smashing the UK fastest time..well done guys.
