As you may already know there was a agility/Flyball/companion show at Bakewell show ground on 26th & 27th.  The weekends weather was amazing but for our four legged friends a bit too hot.  I went to compete agility on Saturday and Flyball on Sunday.  The Saturday proved very successful, Skye managed to win the agility class by nearly 4.5 seconds!  Big well done to her.  On Sunday the flyball team had 3 teams entered.  There were Sorcerers, which was Ken, Sarah, Denise and Neil newbies which was Nathan, Jackie, Keith, Kathryn and Ken and then Timelords, which was Me, Sarah, Amanda and Tina.  The team all performed extremely well in the heat, Newbies and sorcerers got a brilliant 3rd, and Timelords came away with 1st place and a new seed time of 18.51 seconds!  Well done to all :)

Well our members did very well at our own agility show, here’s the role of honour….

New member (and new to agility) Ruth and her collie Lilly managed an 8th and a 3rd place, this was their very first agility show, so a massive well done to them both!

Jenny and Molly, took a fantastic 3rd place, amazing! considering Molly is 12 years old or should we say young!

June Burrows and Dipper walked away with a respectable 8th and with her other dog Poppy managed a 1st place, well done!

Karren Newton and Skye, got an excellent 6th and 13th place, well done you two!

Sarah Stokes and Ffion, also walked away with a rosette taking a 2nd place, another great pair!

Louise McGovern and Saffie, did not disappoint either, taking a brilliant 5th place in a combined 5-7 class, they were the only grade below a 6 or 7 in the placings, well done ladies!

Sue Duncan and Billy managed a 3rd place, so another well done to this partnership!

And, last but my no means least…. Lindsey and Wish gained two 1st places, well done!

Lots of rosettes and trophies safely in the hands of Newton Heath members, and no we did not fiddle the placings! each and every dog and handler deserved it, all this whilst working on the rings as well….. AMAZING!

WELL DONE ALL xxx

The results are beginning to come in, so to start us off…..

Pam Brooker and Titch managed a 3rd in Grade 3 Agility and a 3rd in Grade 3 Jumping, this pair are doing really well this year and we are sure Grade 4 is beckoning!

Steph Wilson-Astbury and Lucy took a respectable 2nd place, and Lucy with her alternative handler…. Oliver Wilson-Asbury also managed a very nice 2nd place, well done to the Wilson-Astbury family!

Hannah Grantham and Boo also came away with some rosettes, they took 2nd in Grade 4 Agility and 2nd in Grade 4 Jumping, so well done too!

There were many more Newton Heath members gaining places, so more results to follow….

Fancy a doggy day out??

Well thats Newton Heath’s Agility show over and done with!

The sun was shining, the venue was fantastic, and the whole event ran well with very few hitches.

Thanks to the judges and well done to all involved, including some Newton Heath member’s family who all mucked in to ensure the whole weekend ran smoothly…. without all this help the show would not go on!

Quite a few Newton Heath members walked away with some excellent results…. more info to follow soon…

Well done everyone!!!!

The flyball show at Bakewell on the 26/27 June have three club teams in the competition – Timelords, Scorcerers and Newbies . Why not come along this Wednesday and see what it’s all about at 8pm

Well done to Moe gaining second place on two occassions in novice

One judged praised Moe for the way she handled her dog and Moe said     ” Its my hobby not the dogs”           to say people have taken the mickey is an understatement. Wise words indeed Moe

Audrey with River has won her second Novice good luck in A & B

Ken has gained a third and a fourth place in class A with Star

Margaret and Dancer gained fourth in class A

Dont forget entries to our club show close the end of June

Please note there will be no flyball training on Wednesday 16th june.  Normal training will continue next week.

Newton Heath’s Flyball team was out again the weekend.  We were at a competition run by Rotherham at a venue in Sheffield.  We had 2 starters teams in and the Timelords.  Unfortunately due to injury the Timelords ran with 3 dogs for experience and then ran Jazz from the starters team in the afternoon and she ran like a professional!  Well done Janet and Jazz!

The starters on Saturday was made up of Karren & Brodie, Kathryn & Harry, Nathan & Milo and Janet & Jazz. The team came away with 2nd place and everyone got a medal!  Well done team, really good racing done by all!

I did so well at Flyball I got my own crown!

Starters on Sunday were Nathan & Milo, Jackie & Kez, Keith & Ella, Emma & Bella and Kathryn with Harry.  Again brilliant racing from the starter dogs and even managed to run 20 seconds which is up there with open dogs, so big well done, especially to Emma as it was her first show!

More rosettes from Wyre Agility show…

Sue Duncan and Billy won Grade 4 Agility, this pair had already moved into Grade 5 at a previous show but congratulations all the same…. obviously ready for Grade 5!

June Burrows and Dipper won Grade 4 Jumping, so a massive well done to this agility partnership as well.

Dipper and Billy are brothers, so basically these two dogs are keeping it all in the family.

Well done xxx
